Duties include but not limited to:

  • Manage field staff
  • Coordinate with sub-trades and client
  • Ensure project schedules are adhered to
  • Identify the required building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
  • Pour, or spread concrete, cutting of wood, installing frame and forms
  • Ability to perform various types of physical labour including moderate to heavy lifting, standing, bending, shoveling, pushing wheelbarrow etc.
  • Ability to pour and finish concrete.
  • Able to exercise good judgment in load handling, placement of equipment and material
  • Ability to read and understand measurements and work orders
  • Reliable & punctual to work each day
  • Comfortable with standing during work hours and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Firm grasp of English language both written and verbal
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Job Overview

Are you an experienced administrative professional looking for flexibility in your schedule with a part time opportunity? We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Office Administrator to oversee all aspects of the front office reception as well as provide day-to-day administrative support. This role is a part time position (22-25 hours per week) with the possibility of going full time.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and efficient manner
  • Calendar management (scheduling and coordinating meetings, etc.)
  • Receive, sort, stamp and post mail on a daily basis
  • Handle bank deposits
  • Coordinate courier arrangements and track all outgoing packages
  • Coordinate repair and maintenance service of all office equipment
  • General filing as needed
  • Other duties as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous working experience in an office environment in the construction industry in a similar capacity of administration or accounting is a must
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional demeanor and attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent MS Office and Google experience
  • Working knowledge of the following:
    • Purchase Orders
    • Understanding of Invoicing, both accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Preparing quotes as directed by management
    • Obtaining quotes from suppliers and sub-contractors
    • Preparing Operation & Maintenance Manuals
    • Tender and Bid documents
    • Contract documents

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Construction Estimator/Coordinator to join our team and assist in the administrative direction of one large or several smaller construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary diploma in construction management or equivalent experience, as well as previous coordination experience within a mid-large general contractor.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and the public
  • Prepare cost estimates using quantity take-off procedures and interpret technical specifications for bid documents.
  • Analyze tenders and recommend awards while keeping client pricing requirements in mind.
  • Perform detailed cost reviews regularly to ensure budget forecast accuracy.
  • Set up project reporting procedures, including cost reports, file logs, submittal logs, and change logs.
  • Provide performance status reports regarding cost forecast, schedule, and safety
  • Monitor project safety reporting and conduct regular safety inspections
  • Understand and enforce contractual responsibilities, contract documents, and resolve disputes
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing and monitoring the project schedule and budget
  • Negotiate and issue subcontracts and major purchase orders and monitor their progress, schedule, and conduct subcontract buyouts
  • Assist the Project Superintendent in establishing the construction plan, project safety, and environment programs
  • Prepare/verify progress payments to owner and subcontractors and monitor progress
  • Involved in all facets of project close-out, including archiving of documents, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work
  • Develop and ensure compliance with quality control plan/establishing site action teams as necessary
  • Monitor project costs to ensure project profitability, including performing regular detailed cost reviews to ensure the accuracy of the budget forecast.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, form, and specialized documents

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma in construction management or equivalent experience
  • Previous coordination experience within a mid-large general contractor
  • 1-3 years as an estimator and/or coordinator or equivalent experience
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Passionate about building relationships
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
